LUCRF Super continues the crusade against cancer

Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other cancer*. But today there’s hope with trials involving advanced tests and new treatments giving sick children the greatest chance of survival.

Over the past four years, we’ve been proud to join with Cancer Crusaders, a Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Auxiliary, in the crusade against brain tumours in children.

This year, we again sponsored the Grand Auction items at the annual Cancer Crusaders Dinner Dance in May. It was an amazing success, raising over $21,500. The money goes a long way towards funding a brain tumour clinical trial program at the RCH’s Children’s Cancer Centre.

The Cancer Crusaders Auxiliary has raised over $300,000 since October 2013.

“The amazing commitment and ongoing support of Cancer Crusaders has allowed us to open multiple international collaborative clinical trials for the care of children with brain tumours,” a spokesperson for RCH said.

Every single cent raised from donations and events like the annual dinner dance goes towards funding the fight against cancer. For information about other events held by the Cancer Crusaders team, visit their Facebook page.

LUCRF Super supports the work of other worthy organisations via our Community Program. The Community Program was established in 2010 to support the communities where our members live and work. Read more about our supported community projects here.
